What is Dermal Needling?
A very simple skin regenerative treatment which improves and rejuvenates the skin. It is also called skin needling, micro-needling, collagen induction therapy. It is a minimally-invasive non-surgical and non-ablative procedure for facial rejuvenation that involves the use of a micro-needling device to create controlled skin injury.
As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound. The controlled injury triggers the body to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, new capillaries are formed. This neo-vascularisation and neo-collagenesis following treatment leads to reduction of scars and skin rejuvenation, i.e. improved skin texture, firmness and hydration.
Dermal Needling is effectively used for:
Improving fine lines and deep wrinkles
Skin tightening, lifting and rejuvenation
Increasing the epidermis by up to 40%; resulting in a fresher look
Improving acne scars and wound healing
Improving skin texture, tone and colour
Minimising pore size
Fading stretch marks
Improving collagen-elastin structure
Normalising TEWL and moisture retention in scars
Stimulating development of new blood vessels

What Are The Benefits Of The Dermaroller
The Dermaroller can noticeably rejuvenate the appearance of your skin improving fine lines wrinkles, old scars or sun damage, it can assist with the absorption of other topical products for skin rejuvenation. The Dermaroller treatment is suitable for all skin types and does not result in skin sensitivity to UV light.
How Does A Dermaroller Work?
The Dermaroller is precision-engineered from titanium and features 192 surgical steel micro-needles which, when rolled across the dermis (skin), creates pin-point punctures. These tiny puncture wounds are perceived by the body as damage, beginning the onset of the natural healing process and stimulating the release of growth factors that trigger the production of collagen and elastin. By having a number of skin needling sessions with the Dermaroller, new collagen and elastin are produced progressively, gradually filling indented scars and deep lines.
What Happens During The Procedure?
A local anaesthetic cream is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment while your consent form is completed. The ‘roller’ is then applied all over the treatable area – this takes about 20 minutes.
